Rice Purity Test Score Meaning: A Neutral Guide

Understand scores from 0 to 100 through exact checked-box arithmetic without unsupported averages, percentiles, or personal inferences.

A Rice Purity score is the result of a subtraction. It is useful to begin with that fact before attaching any broader meaning to the number.

How scoring works

  • The checklist contains 100 questions.
  • Every checked box subtracts one point.
  • Every question has the same weight.
  • The final score runs from 100 to 0.

Neutral descriptive bands

The site's score guide groups results by checked-item counts: 0–2, 3–6, 7–23, 24–55, 56–91, and 92–100 checked. These bands describe counts only. They are not population percentiles or judgments.

Two identical scores can represent different answers

If two people both score 60, each checked 40 boxes. The total does not establish that they checked the same items. It cannot support claims about a particular experience, background, or motivation.

Questions someone chooses not to answer

An unchecked box is scored the same whether the experience did not occur or the person preferred not to answer. That is another reason not to treat the total as a complete record.

No measured ranking

This site does not maintain a documented population dataset, so it does not publish a universal average or percentile. Read what a credible comparison would require.
