Is There an Average Rice Purity Score?
There is no defensible universal average available from this site. A useful comparison needs a documented sample, a collection window, and consistent questions—not an unattributed number copied between websites.
The short answer
This implementation calculates scores locally and does not collect completed results into a population dataset. It therefore cannot support a sitewide average, percentile, or comparison between groups.
A score is still exact for the checklist itself: it equals 100 minus the number of checked boxes. What is not established is how that number compares with everyone else.
Why online averages disagree
A voluntary online quiz is a convenience sample. People who find and finish it may differ from people who do not, and the same person may take it more than once. Different sites may also use different wording or filtering rules.
Those limitations do not make every survey useless, but they do mean the method must be published beside the result. A disclaimer cannot turn an undocumented estimate into measured data.
What a credible average would need
Sample size and recruitment
How many people participated, where they came from, and whether they chose to participate must be disclosed.
Collection window
A result needs dates. A number without a collection period cannot show whether it is current or comparable.
Question version
Different versions can contain different wording. Comparisons require the same questions and scoring rules.
Exclusions and duplicate handling
A published method should explain bot filtering, repeat attempts, incomplete tests, and other exclusions.
Summary measure
The mean, median, range, and distribution answer different questions. A single unlabeled number is not enough.
Privacy and consent
People should know what is collected, why it is collected, how long it is kept, and whether reporting is opt-in.
How to interpret your score without a benchmark

- 2 Remember that the total does not disclose which boxes produced it.
- 3 Use the result for optional entertainment or reflection, not as a judgment, diagnosis, or population ranking.
